I NEED YOUR IMPUT....

To make a long story shorter, I had a colocnscopy this morning. The GI told me that the test results would not be in until the end of the week or 7 days. He also mentioned that he thought I had Crohns disease. 7 years ago I was told I had IBS. I have since dismissed that since my symtoms don't match up with ibs symtoms. Now I am totally confused about having CRohns disease. I don't have a lot of information on it yet but things don't add up here either. Could everyone please give me their IBS-c symtoms, Crohns disease symtoms or both. My symtoms are bloating/weight gain, loss of appetite, constipation and headaches. What are yours?

Hi. My symptoms of IBS-C are just unexplained constipation, and usually pain before having a bm; pain goes away after bm. From what I've read and asked, doctors tell u you have IBS after a normal colonoscopy. It's all stress related and I have a lot of that. In my case, I had suffered from IBS-D since I was very young. I had never seen a Dr. about it--simply thought I must have tons of "food allergies". But after the birth of my second child, I started to experience this terrible constipation. I exercise, eat healthy and drink plenty water. So, I decided to see a gastroenterologist and got a colonoscopy; results were normal (healthy colon). So, I started to take chelated magnesium, citrucel and increase even more fruits and veggies intake. I don't have any of the symptoms you describe. From what I've read Crohns disease is an inflamation of the colon. Good luck to you.
My symptoms started after what I was told was a viral infection that lasted for about 3 weeks. During this illness I basically starved myself because I had a loss of appetite, nausea and dizziness. After visiting 3 Drs and several tests that turned out normal one Dr. finally gave me an antiobiotic. After the illness was 'cured' I developed:*severe gas pains*bloating*abdominal pain*severe heartburn*pain in my lower right quadrant (next to my pelvic bone)*upper right abdominal pain*pain around my bellybutton*hypoglycemiaGenerally most of these symptoms are better after I have a BM.I have always had a problem with constipation no matter what I eat. I generally eat a bowl of high fiber cereal daily to keep myself regular.
