Hello everyone!I want to try Mike's tapes, but I am sort of skeptical about them. If those of you who have tried them and have found them sucessful could write me a short note, I would really appreciate it. I have mostly gas, pain and bloating with infrequent C.Blonde21

Hi blonde:One of the best ways to find out, other than the BB or having people mail you, is to come to our hypno chat support groups on Sundays at 7:30 EST. Feel free to come there and join us.
I finished Mike's tapes a little while back and I think I have improved a great deal. I alternate C & D and used to have pretty bad cramping with the C, and would have to take off work several days a month. With the tapes the pain has lessened and I haven't had to take off work.I'm sure you'll get responses from other people.JeanG

Thank You JeanG for writing me back! I am going to try and remember to join in on the chat room this Sunday. I am willing to try anything because tonight I had a VERY painful BM, and I can't take it anymore. I never know when I am going to go, and I also never know if it is going to be painful. So, when it is painful, I get really scared that someting is really wrong with me. Anyways, thanks again for writing me back!Blonde.

Hi Blonde:If you have a microphone you can do voice chat with us. A lot of us talk, but we do also type so you won't miss out on anything. It's just that the voice is a lot of fun too. It's best to try to register for chat ahead of time because sometimes Yahoo can be slow.JeanG

I tried to chat last time and all I got was a brownish screen. I can't seem to get the message window. What's up with that!

Hi Red:You aren't by any chance using webtv or a mac, are you? There are problems with both of them trying to get in.Do you remember exactly what you did to try to get in? I know Wednesday in chat Yahoo was acting up quite a bit and we kept getting booted. Then for a while it wouldn't let people type. It gets very strange like that sometimes. Someone once said it had to do with all the people using Yahoo at a particular time, that it can't handle it.Try to register and get it again some time before chat, and let us know what happens. Someone should be able to give you some suggestions.

Hi Blonde,I have finished the tapes, and have improved a great deal. It took about 4-5 weeks before I began to notice the change, but I've had IBS for 27 years, and my thought patterns were long established. I have seen many Drs, and this is the best thing I ever did for IBS. It has improved my symptoms greatly, I'd say I'm 80% improved. That means a great deal for me. An added side effect is that my anxiety is reduced too. I can't say I'm cured, as I still have to watch my diet, and take fiber supplements. But it has greatly improved my daily life.Hypnotherapy is totally safe, and Mike is an expert at dealing with IBS patients. I checked in my area for hypnotherapists, but I could not find one that knew about IBS. The tapes are geared for us. They require no work besides the committment to listen according to the schedule. It is for 100 days, and there are some days off. All you need to do is put on a headset and relax to Mike's voice. I usually end up falling asleep with the tapes, but that is ok as the subconscious is still listening.I strongly recommend you try them. They work for all types and symptoms of IBS.AZ

At last, someone with exactly the same symptoms as me! I have tried both Mebeverine Hydrochloride and Colpermin (Peppermint oil) for the pain but without any improvement. I also took a fibre supplement but I think it just irritated my system. I have therefore come off all medication and am drinking more water and taking peppermint tea. Surprisingly, I'm feeling a bit better. I have started Mike's tapes this week and have found them to be very relaxing. I too am a bit sceptical but what is there to lose? Also, it's a non-invasive treatment. Even if all the tapes do is to relax me for 1/2 an hour every day, surely that in itself must be good for me! You know, I actually think I'm feeling more positive since starting the tapes.

Hi blonde:Look to the top of your screen and you'll see "Chat". Click on that and it will take you to a screen that shows the schedule for the chat room. It will say, across the top of the schedule, "To enter chat follow this link...." Click on the word link and it will bring you to the club screen. On the upper right you will see "Log in". Click on that, and since you are new it will as you to register. Once you do that you will be back at the club screen. Scroll down, and in the middle of the page you will see, "Chat Room" and "Enter". Click on that. I'm not sure at this point if it still asks you to enable voice. If it does, it's a good idea to say yes, because even if you don't have a mic at this point, at least you'll be able to hear people when they talk.Give it a try sometime this weekend before chat in case you have any problems that need to be sorted out. Good luck.

I didn't use Mikes, but I used some from Dr. Weinstock (see the products section), and I found them somewhat helpful. I think they did a tremendous job of relaxing me before my evening meal which probably helped digestion a little, and when I would experience symtpoms, I could imagine the scenes I was told to imagine on the tapes & relax about it.Dr. Weisntock has a portion of the tapes devoted to C specifically that I haven't listened to (for obvious reasons).

I was pretty skeptical before beginning the tapes, but I decided to give it a fair chance. I have really since an improvement, although lately I've been going through a rough patch, so am redoing a portion of the tapes again. I never realized how much of an impact your mind could have on your gut until doing this program.

Hi Red:Do a post to LuckyLou. She also has a mac and got the problem sorted out. The only problem she is having now is that she still can't get sound in the chat room. Post the question to her both here and over in the Meeting Place so she sees it. I'm sure she'll be glad to help you. Good luck with the tapes.

Blonde, I am glad you have it figured out. Hopefully we'll see you in chat. You can also click on the search option and read alot of what has been posted already there is a ton of information. I have to say I was skeptical at first also, until I learned about it how and why it would help and then it started to make much more sense and has helped me tremedously. I work on Mike's website and am the moderator for the chat, so if you have any questions let me know. One thing I'd like to say is, it isn't stage hypnosis, which is something much different, but it is guided imagery and relaxtion targeted for IBSers. There is much more to it then that though. We have seen some great results with them though, it is still a tool to work with but a very effective tool.------------------ http://webpotential.com/ericibs/index.htm
