I have had IBS-D for 12 years and have recently discovered that I have osteopenia in my spine and have lost almost two inches in height (I am only 27). My doc and I have looked into the GI problems that cause bone loss and I have tested negative for celiac and have had no bleeding to indicate chrohn's. So my question is...does IBS cause malabsorption which would lead to the bone loss??
