Hi, I am new to the group and I am wondering if anyone has had children after they had IBS. I was just diagnosed 6 months ago and I would like to have children in a year or so. Any one care to share their experiences? Thanks..------------------sandwomin

Sandwomin. Welcome! I have had two children after having IBS for about 5 years. I'm happy to say my IBS-d symptoms virtually disappeared during each pregnancy! When I did have some D, I was able to take Imodium. Best of luck to you!!Mary Beth

My IBS started when I was pregnant with my 3rd child. I didn't have it so much with my 4th pregnancy. You can do it though...You always have all of these nice people in here to help you.Stick

sandwomin,I was diagnosed with IBS-D in Nov 98 then I became pregnant in Dec 98. I am able to take imodium when I need it. Lately I have been a little on the C side, I don't know if it's the pregnancy causing it or just the natural changes of IBS.Good Luck you can do it if you set your mind to it.Julia

Sandwomin: I am in the same predicament and am trying now to get pregnant. The difficult thing is that we're starting to time ovulation and, well, you know. It's difficult enough working sex in around the disease. Now we have to do it on command!! (my husband is the best)Hopefully, you'll get pregnant right away and won't have to worry about such things!!!Best of luck------------------Beth
