I have had IBS-C for most of my life. In the months of September through November, I have had some really bad pain and alternating C and D. I was originally eating all insoluable fibers like breads and pasta a crackers so the D wouldn't be bad and it was the only food that I could ingest without stomach pain. All the pain is has been gone for the past three weeks, which I expected becuase I am not due for my period yet. I also changed my diet over the past few weeks becuase the breads...seemed to be constipating me. I was still going everyday pretty normal but I had the "pellet" every once in a while. NOW...I have been very constipated for the past two weeks. I have been going about everyday but the bm is so hard that it won't even pass without my help. They are like tiny rock hard pellets that get "stuck" and are so painful! My hemmies are also growing hugh b/c it is so hard to get them out! This is the diet I have been eating lately to relieve the C, but maybe I'm doing the wrong thing:Total raisen bransaladSpinach soup (ghitta's recipe)pearschickenbroccolismall amount of rice or crackersstewed prunes1 glass of Citrucel1 capsule of flax seed oillots of peppermint and chamomile teaAm I eating the wrong things?? I cannot stand this C and it is really getting me scared. Why am I so backed up now all of a sudden? I remember someone saying that too much fiber is not good but I also dring about 14 glasses of water a day. Is there a difference between the fibers I'm eating that could plug me up like this. I am also taking Colace but it doesn't seem to be helping much. What has worked for you guys? Can you suggest something that might work? Have any of you had this experience? I am so uncomfortable becuase the bm is "stuck" right there all day and I can't hardly even sit. My tailbone has been really aching as well.I would really appreciated any information becuase I am so worried about this. Thanks so much.
