I would really like to put the word out there...it is so important to have check ups with your GP and GI doctors. I have been suffering with IBS-D for well over 7 years and 4 colonoscopies later...I have a new diagnosis. I am now suffering with IBD/ulcerative colitis. If I hadn't gone back to the doctor for a check up 2 weeks ago the dr may not have found the occult blood in stool or the inflammation/ulcer in my large intestine. He told me that many people suffer with the physical symptoms of IBD but have no internal physical symptoms until years later. I am now on Asacol HD and have hope that after this flare up is treated with the correct medications I will go into remission until the next flare up. I had thought the only thing life had to offer was Immodium AD! I know this is more serious than IBS, but I would like to pass on the word that if you see blood in your stool, have it checked. There is a reason you are bleeding!
