After reviewing the messages on this board, engaging in my own research, objectively examining my diet and my mental and emotional state, I have come to the following realization: this condition is triggered by one's mental/emotional state-period. Only then does diet alleviate or exascerbate the symptoms.Isn't it funny how when you are completely engulfed by a wonderful moment (a hard laugh, a favorite activity, etc.), you don't notice these symptoms? But yet when going to work, or when worrying about something, or even when you have time to obsess or just think or let your mind wander, the symptoms arise. Not to be morose, but if these were serious or even semi-serious stomach conditions, from cancer on down to an ulcer, the symptoms would not remain the same for years, nor would you notice them getting better or worse in direct response to you mental/emotional state. It starts and ends with our minds and souls.

I figured that out. Like if I freak out about it and then when I get home nothing happens physically, then I know nothing was seriously wrong. That and my tests I had done pretty much prove it's in my head. However I don't think that's the case for everyone unfortunately

hmmm... "soul" maybe, "mind" definitely not. There is a lot more going on than just the mind alone. even if the mind has a big component there is still some physical mechanism out of sync or malfunctioning to get the gut symptoms. Suggest you do a bit more reading up and appreciate the varying symptoms and triggers people have. Mine were triggered just as much when in comfortable relaxed surrounding than when emotional or stressed.
