Hi everyone.I've had chronic diahhrea for about 3 years now. I've had numerous tests run, including a colonoscopy, with all the results turning up nothing. I'm beginning to think my doctor thinks nothing is wrong with me. I have diahhrea almost everyday. Should I suggest that maybe he should check for IBS? Thanks for your help.

I've read a good bit about IBS and it seems to match up with my symptoms pretty well. I've tried the food allergy thing but the diahhrea occurs no matter what I eat.I may try some of the things mentioned here to see if it helps with my symptoms. I'm hopeful, as this is making my life a bit difficult. I teach and it gets hard to have someone watch my class while I run to take care of my emergency.I'm glad I found this site. Hopefully with everyone's help I can find the reason for these problems. Thanks so much.

Thanks for the welcome!I'm going to buy some calcium carbonate today and see if it helps. I've read a few posts that seem to indicate it offers some relief from the IBS-D symptoms. *fingers crossed*

Wow, this is a very friendly group indeed!I too have been living on immodium tablets for a while. To be honest I'm getting sick of taking the things. Don't they make a fiber supplement that contains calcium carbonate? Would that be a better bet?

Over the last few years, I've learned to take Immodium wherever I go. My wife would always complain about finding it all over the place. I'd keep some everywhere, including the car. Hopefully the calcium carbonate will ease my reliance on it.

The calcium carbonate seems to be helping. Since I started taking 600 mg twice a day, I've not had diahhrea once. Here's hoping these results continue...**fingers still crossed***

Just an update.Since I've been taking the calcium carbonate I still haven't had a bout of diahrea. So this is how the other half lives?
I also took your advice and have an appointment with a gastroenterologist tomorrow. We'll see how it goes. Thanks again.
