IBS is pretty much a diagnosis of exclusion. You've had a very thorough test, a colonoscopy, and it showed nothing abnormal, therefore if your doctor doesn't think anything serious is there, I would say it would more than likely be IBS. No test is really going to show, Oh look, theres spots of IBS. IBS can't really be seen.. nothing looks diseased, things just aren't "functioning" the way they should. That's why its called a functional disorder.

I believe the new Metamucil capsules have calcium in them. That is the only one I've seen with calcium carbonate. Perhaps there are others, but it is the most popular brand name I've seen with it.Definitely stick around and read the forums... The "find" feature is a great tool. I search for things such as "Remeron" and these issues can be found discussed years back... It's nice, people are friendly, and can relate to what you're going through.Hope you start feeling better soon, I know how bad this thing sucks
