What specific diagnostic tests has your Dr performed to come to this diagnosis? And exactly what are you taking right now to manage your symptoms?

i have had a endoscopy, they had alook at my large intestine and apparently looked normal they also took a piece of my guy for analysis as well which came back clear, i havnt been accepted to do anyfurther tests to see whats wrong by the doctor.ive been given antisposmodics and motilium for nausea both do nothing for me but make me worse, antisposmodics just give me diorehha.im just real tired now of our doctors in uk on NHS not looking outside the box to check for other causes that maybe around.the main activity i have is in the left top corner of my gut, somtimes it starts to inflate everytime i breath and makes groans which makes me want to vomit.they refuse to do allergy tests and havnt asked for ultrasound which would probally be next best option.he said it was stress but i can not induce these effecs myslef, they just spontaniously happen especially my burning skin which only occurs when i start to sweat or get warm.im thinking on the lines of my gallbladder, the only thing in left corner is spleen and pancreas.

That left corner of the abdomen has a bend in the colon that is a really big trouble spot for IBS pain. Sometimes I've even seen it written up as splenic flexure syndrome. I don't think that is really anything different than IBS/functional bowel disease, just you find a lot of people who just have problems where the stool/gas has to go around that bend.Don't discount the degree to which stress can effect any disorder. And it can be physical stress like you didn't sleep well the night before, weather, did too much exercise recently, or not enough. Often people don't notice how off our physical stress level is until a symptom pops up. We don't always feel like we are stressed even when there is enough stress to ramp up symptoms of any health issue we have. So learning and practicing some stress reduction techniques (there are plenty described on the web) and seeing if that helps. Even if it doesn't they are good things to learn for when you do hit a stressful patch in your life. Not sure about the skin issues. If you could get to see a dermatologist that may help track that down. I also would make sure you have been screened regularly for diabetes as that can mess up nerves and burning skin issues are sometimes reported, but I think that tends to start more in the hands and feet (longer nerves damage first). The regular blood test the do (complete blood count) would usually go off with some of the other things that could cause that (autoimmune problems).

had a blood test but i need somthing at least i cant take immodium as it completly messes me up, cause im really struggling here there has to be somthing at least wrong with the stomach as im getting a pain ful chest, the pain comes in sharp strikes as if i was being punched. what other test could i ask my doctor to try?i have had thread worm, food poisoning and alot of trouble abroad with the water, the only thing helping me is to smoke marjuhana to stop nausea just shame it makes you a bit stupid.im really considering anti depressants as anything is worth a try now to be honest.ive heard about candida test and imuno bluprint blood test arre recommended as well as ultra sound to check how to bowels are moving.the only problem i have is i know people who have it and have been through more stress then i have and suffer less symptoms and severity.

That sound like GORD (I think that is how they spend GERD in the UK?) Have you tried any of the antacids or acid blocking medications? There may not be enough damage from that for them to see it on the endoscopy, but that would ahve found any other problems with the stomach (gastritis or an ulcer). If the pain is central there can be inflammation in the joints of the chest (costochondritis) I get that from time to time. Usually the pain is near the breastbone and it can be quite painful. Not much to do other than take anti-inflammatories. NSAIDs can be bad for IBS and stomach issues so you might try Fish Oil and see if that helps. It will take longer, but sometimes it will make a difference over time. You might check the Calcium Thread if you need something for diarrhea. That can sometimes be easier to play with the dose so you may find the right level that stops things up enough without blocking you up too bad.Have you tried ginger tea for the nausea?Antidepressants can be a way to get all this under control, and if you have a bit of depression or anxiety may help with that as well. Remeron, which I think is in the UK under that same name. Is related to an anti-nausea drug and tends to help with diarrhea, so that may be a place to start.

Well I don't know how stool looks as if an infection is present... BUT....have they done any bloodwork to check your white count? Have they done any stool sample testing? Those are thigns that would show a bacterial infection is present.I know you said they "took a look at" your large intestine.... does that mean you had a colonoscopy? Or did they just do a sigmoidoscopy where they just looked at the very end of the colon? If they didn't do a colonoscopy I would urge you to request one.So my suggestions to you is to get bloodwork done, a stool sample to check for infection and/or parasites etc and a colonscopy with biopsies (if you haven't already had one done.)

Bubbles in stool is normal.Every human produces a pretty large amount of gas and sometimes that is trapped in the stool and comes out once it is in the toilet. This is because most of the normal not infection bacteria in teh colon all release gas when they digest the food in our diet that no human digests.Every human has mucus on the stools. With IBS people often see more mucus then they are used to and it does not indicate an infection. Not sure if that is what you mean by "looks infected" but it can be white so you might think that as well.I don't know of any infection that causes some unusual stool formation never seen in health people. Stool varies a lot from person to person and even from day to day. Usually we don't notice things until something goes wrong and then every variation or new thing to notices seems like it should be a symptom, when it is just what has always been there that you never noticed.

yer im 80% sure ibs is a gallbladder related problem. The gallballder is next to the liver, the liver is put under stress due to toxin or other things and can effect gallbladder.i heard about 90% of gallbladder issues do not involve pain but intense nausea, if i have my skin and nausea sorted i can concentrate on my guts, but i belive once these two symptoms dissapper so will my gut problems or there would be easier symptoms i can cope with. i cant get my doctor to do more tests . when they say ibs thats it no more diagnosing no more tests and end of here is some gaviscon deal with it.

just been to the doctors and now luck in getting any tests, she told me my itchy skin was due to weather conditions? and nausea stress related she even told me try hypnotherapy
. When a docotor says to you that " do you have a difficulty accepting that there is nothing worng" then why do i want to vomit and soil as well as induce these uncomfortable symptoms onto my self i want to get better!i asked a doctor from poland he said 100% all tests must be taken to cancel out what is wrong, ibs is only a decsion in medical practise when all test have been conducted with negative results. i know there are tests to see how food travels down your tract, they havent even wanted to get a stool sample, what is wrog with these doctors havent they seen gallbladder or any kind of these symptoms before? they even took me off the system!i have been perscribed metoclopramide anti- sickness which should help the bilirium increase into the gut but still another rubbish tactic of handing drugs and hope for the best.then getting on with doing full tests which would be much easier and less trips to the doctors. As above if i was a doctor i would first do colonscopy and blood work as well as stool sample, it seems strange to me that digestive problems and the dont want a stool sample? if that doesnt work then ultrasound but i belive this is another of our NHS pushing drugs and gaining money. They dont wana cure you, they just want you coming back for more, do the actually think i enjoy going to hospital to get a camera in my gut? would i lie just to get the test? its ridiculous.

Suggesting hypnotherapy does not mean you are making up the symptoms, or you are making yourself sick. There are a number of ways to access the nervous system. Usually in functional illnesses most of the problem is in the nervous system (and with every disease or injury your nervous system can ramp things up or help ramp things down, it is why even with the exact same injury some people don't have problems and others are in severe pain).Drugs are one way to access the nervous system. The gut nerves use the same chemicals and receptors as the brain so most of those are things like antidepressants, although there are a few specific for IBS.The other way to access the nervous system is with the mind because the brain is connected to the nervous system in the body. For a lot of illnesses things like hypnotherapy can make a huge difference in how bad the symptoms are and many people can shut off the inappropriate nervous system stuff with the mind. The brain is supposed to give feedback to the body to help regulate things. Why not use that for benefit if you can?

I am suffering exactly the same symptoms as you told it was IBS when i eventually got fed up and asked 4 a referral to differant doc got notes and was nosey read them gave 4 different diagnoses dysfunction of the gall bladder, dysfunction of the oddi sphincter (its umbrella term is bilary dyskenisia) IBS or adhesions as i suffer pain everytime i eat and have lost weight. Said at bottom of notes invasive surgery not reccommended, had 2 pay privately. Different consultant finally did HIDA scan found gall bladder emptying to fast when i eat still awaiting next appointment to find out if anything can b done. I am now sick of being sick all the time try my best 2 stay positive but very hard when ur in pain all the time am now on ADs due to anxiety as when the pain gets bad i freak out its something far worse. Hope u find answers soon and good luck.

I am surprised that you have been refused an ultrasound as that is usually one of the standard tests that should be done before IBS is diagnosed (remember that IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion and they seem to have pronounced it too quickly in your case). I think that, as a minimum, you can ask for an ultrasound to rule out gall stones etc. You can at least make the case that it is standard procedure in other countries.Otherwise, all our symptoms, bar the itchy skin could potentially be IBS. I got nausea, chest pain, intense fatigue, depression, mood swings etc. all just from IBS. I spent a lot of time looking at the stomach but the problems were all in the colon. It does sound like you need to work on your diet/digestion as much as you can as the stool consistency sounds far from ideal. I found stone age type diets to be very successful and managed to reduce gas to a minimum and now have very good energy levels. However, there are a couple of trains of thought regarding IBS and diet as some get good results from the high soluble fibre/low fat regime.I also reacted badly to the anti-spasmodic meds and just about everything that the Dr. gave me. I was just going to put up with the pain I had (I got rid of all the other symptoms with diet, probiotics etc.) but finally tried Amitryptaline out of curiosity and getting a bit tired of having some pain most days. Surprise, surprise it works great and has little side effects for me. I feel like a twit for writing it off so quickly. Now I often feel completely normal!Plus, the best thing for IBS can often be getting off the couch. You may surprise yourself with what you can do. I find that the quickest way of turning off gut pain is to go and do some absorbing sport. Switches off the nerves to the gut straight away. I did this even when I was suffering more severe symptoms. In fact, the day after my colonoscopy, after a 40 hour fast, I went windsurfing. I thought, "even if I only go out for 30 minutes, at least I'll have another life for those 30 minutes." Well I lasted 90 minutes and haven't looked back.

It is dangerous to self diagnose as I am sure you are aware so I would urge you to seek another Dr's opinion or go to a different specialist if you are not satisfied with the performance of your current Dr.

The stressing will only make you feel worse so I would try very hard to not do that. Itchy/burning skin can come from many different things, not just gall bladder. See another Dr if you are not satisfied with your current one.
