I have had IBS for as long as I can remember, mainly bloating, trapped gas. A few things have changed and my IBS is much betterI have developed a condition called chronic urticaria (hives) which necessitates me taking lots of anti-histamines. I have also been taking soluble fibre (benefibre)once daily. I also take coloxyl a couple of days after the last BA.I now tend to have a bowel action about once every 5-6 days. The stool is long (at least 6") and at least an inch in diameter. The days prior to the passage are comfortable. The day I have an empty colon ie after I have passed the stool I get symptoms, but they get less as each day passes.I can't quite work out the reason why a formed long thick stool passed infrequently gives me relief or means that I haven't had symptoms in the preceding days.
