Since some of this may be a mis-signalling of the sensory nerves of the gut (it feels like something is going on that may not be) then drugs used to treat IBS that work on the gut nerves (mostly antidepressants) or mind-body therapies may work.If it feels like a spasm is causing this then antispasmodics may help.K.
can an insufficiency of blood supply cause symptoms of incomplete evacuation? have post evacuation cramps, so far nothing has helped, what can I do? casch26###aol.com

An insufficiency of blood flow is not likely to be the cause of this.Improper signalling of the nerves is much more likely. The evidence in IBS seems to point towards nervous system problems NOT blood flow problems.Disrupted blood flow to the colon tends to be a rare and very serious condition. The lining to the colon dies and that causes bloody diarrhea and can be life threatening.Treatments that effect the nervous system (antidepressants/mind-body therapies) may be the direction to be looking at.K.
