This site has helped me so much.Thank you for it! However, I have never seen this topic addressed before. I have been having total fecal incontinence and it is happening more often. It is very frightening as I never have any warning. Does it happen to anyone else and how do you cope with it?

Thanks to all who have responded to my problem with incontinence. I am seeing a therapist and talking Zoloft and Xanax for the anxiety. I have a colonoscopy every 3 yrs (and am overdue right now). I do have "normal" days but I never know what triggers this. I have been taking the Caltrate for some time and it seems to help. I am going to start taking more and see if this helps.I will let you know and God Bless you All!

AMcCall, Thanks for making me feel I'm not the only person with this problem. I have found out that if I don't eat before I go out I can feel safe. I always have my Imodium in my purse. I don't leave home without it.Sometimes I take one before I leave the house. I know I am not one to be giving advice but I also take Xanax for the anxiety. Without it, I doubt if I would have the nerve to leave. I have now read some of the "most embarrassing moments" and I guess I have been lucky. Only once did I not make it home and I was in my own car. The Xanax helps me feel more comfortable about leaving the house. If you are not taking something for anxiety,I would suggest you try it. Thanks again and God Bless us all!
