Yes in a way.I had to find a new GP since old one left practice. One new GP I went to to continue IBS meds put down depression on the form and nothing else. Ignorant MD. Insurance wouldn't pay for mental health at normal rates. This is a word to the wise. Look at the sheet the MD hands you upon exit. Make sure it doesn't include a mental health code.Found someone else.

angry, what is the name of the insurance that won't pay for mental health on a same rate as for physical health. what stae are you in? There is current legislation in congress on this very same type of insurance game.I was asking more about problems getting health insurance with an existing diagnosis of IBS.tom

The insurance is called medicare.I really doubt that medicare will bump up its rates to 80%. It's not solvent.
