Hi everyone,

Im new to the forum, and not sure if I'm doing this correctly

I have had IBS for about 18 years with no medical support what so ever...

I usually take over the counter medication to stop my diarrhea and cramps, but this past year or so it has gotten a lot worse, and I am wondering if sugar may be the cause of this.

I don't have a sweet tooth, so I don't eat many sweet foods etc, but I do drink a lot of tea and take 2 teaspoons of sugar and a drop of milk.

I do take other medication for high blood pressure and pain killers for my back (I have spina bifida occulta)

but don't think these are the causes.

Does anyone else have a similar problem with sugar? and if so, do you have an alternative suggestion I could try other than artificial sweeteners as products such as nutrasweet etc give me a laxative effect.

Thanks in advance to any suggestions

Kind Regards
