I just got a call from my gastroenterologist's office, as she knows that I am looking into ordering Zelnorm from Canada or Mexico. This Dr. was told by her rep that he expects to have Zelnorm available in 1-2 months. I wonder how credible this is? Has anyone heard anything about it's pending approval?

Joy,My daughter's GI (who was ready to prescribe Zelnorm/Zelmac for her last June (2001) before the FDA pulled the plug) told us about 5-6 weeks ago that Novartis reps were getting ready for its U.S. approval sometime this year - probably in late summer or fall. Since your GI is giving similar information, maybe there's something to it. Anyone else hear anything like this? Let's hope. The Mexican web site works OK but it would be a lot easier getting an RX from your local physician.

you could help speed up the process by joining the zelnorm action group (buttom at top left of the zelnorm forum screen) and joining the canpaign for approval.tom

I've already faxed all the letters to all the appropriate people months ago through the action group (never got a response from any of them!)Now, I am waiting for the approval... (Hope this waiting isn't much ado about nothing and it actually gives some relief!)
