Nope. Is it automatic? I didn't see anyplace to choose that option.

No, only the person who posted the original message will be notified. Using this topic as an example...I have been notified by email each time that someone has replied to my original post. (This will only work if you check the appropriate box when posting your topic and you have registered with a valid email account.The signature is a default "signature" that will be added on after each of your posts if you check the box after you post your message.
