ENNA:You can read about it at by clicking on the LEAP Button on the Topics Page then clicking on RAFANI and/or the RAFANI STUDY buttons OR www.leapallergy.com/therapy.html or the text of the doctors article is on this site at http://www.ibsgroup.org/ubb/Forum5/HTML/000124.html etc.Its an herbal/vegetable/extract supplement form Europe where they sell about 100,000,000 doses per year OTC for constipation, GERD and digestive difficulties which might come from too much fat in the diet or trouble emulsifying fat (no gall bladder) etc. In East and Central Europe the formula (under the name Raphacholin) is in popularity like Pepto Bismol is here. The ingredients are on the thread on the product board. If you cannot find it let me know and I will rewrite it. there is a picture on the website which shows what the extracts do where in the gut.For people here the main beneficiary is the C type like Krissy, esp. with gas and bloating. Some of the cholecystectomy patients could benefit as well.Have a CFDMNL_____________ www.leapallergy.com [This message has been edited by Mike NoLomotil (edited 10-17-2000).]

Hi Matt, Yes,at this time,it is the only thing i am taking,i never take more than one thing at a time, because then i don't know which is working and which is not.I am a C type, slow motility. As for my diet,i still watch what i eat,and really haven't ate many foods that i usually don't for fear of an attack! but it has made a big difference for me,especially with the bloating, and daytime nausea.

Slow and plain C i think are a little different, slow means i go everyday, but my system is slow moving things along, with C i understand you have a hard time going,(i am not the best explaining these things)LOL Yes the Rafani has helped my slowness also,i used to be only one BM in the morning everyday, now i always go at least twice. Matt,i got this from the other thread on the Rafani,Mike wrote this,i hope this helps.KrissyYes vegetarians who have C use the Rafani as well. Works fine. Some strict vegans prefer it without the cholic acid, and there is a formulation sold in Europe without it but I do not bring it into the US at this time. Low demand. It might be available under the label DIGEST RC in some health food stores if you find DRC at all. DRC is the "retail" packaging from CX Research and RAFANI is for medical practices or over the web from us. Same. Ya just cannot find DRC everywher like Sundown Vitamins or something. If you see (2) different formulations of DRC one will be without the cholic acid (fat emulsifier).

HI MATT.Busy yesterday missed your question sort of. One of the most common applications of RAFANI in Europe is for C, and patients are often instructed by doctors to use it for C.It will have no efect on any food sensitivitieis etc as it does not effect the underlying hypersensitivity reactiosn if present. It is simply a compound of the listed extracts which help relive the symptoms listed...just like Pepto in this country helps with certain things but has not effect on the etiology.I hope that makes sense. that is, if food XYZ constipates you, that won't change, what will change is that you will not be constipated because you took this drug-free digestive aid.Another example, people who have had gall bladder trouble or removal often find this helpful taken with meals as a digestive aid due to the cholic acid which helps add more "fat emulsifer" into the chyme since there is no GB there storing all the digestive enzymes waiting for the hormone-triggered "empty me" reaction after eating.HAVE A CFD!MNL___________ www.leapallergy.com
