K: you seem to have a lot of knowledge in regard to IBS and digestive disorders; are you familiar with dumping syndrome, or digestive disorders following GB surgery. i had no problem prior to surgery but for almost 2 years it has been terrible. i learned so much from this excellent board; i just wanted to convince myself i was no different than anyone else and had to learn what and what not to eat. the doctors only touched on the why and how and prescribed creon. i understand the creon is truly natural from a pig pancreas which really turned me off. are the enzymes from the health store as reliable as the creon. they are really my choice but i cannot get a doctor to agree. in the meantime, i am taking papaya enzymes and feeling pretty good. i guess i need assurance that the papaya is of as good a quality as the creon. the creon also adds to my D or C, whatever mode my system is in at the time. this is a long story; i would appreciate your time in reading it and responding. thank you so much.

Hi Hilda,I wish I could tell you that Sustenase will solve all your problems. It has helped many people and many people are not helped at all. There seems to be many people who have problems after gall bladder surgery. I only know of one person from this board who had Gall Bladder Surgery that tried Sustenase, he also had used Creon. The creon did not help them at all and the Sustenase seemed to help them only for one week and then the problems came back. There main problem was from bloating, I don't believe there was any pain. IBS is so difficult, one thing will help one person and hurt the next. If the papaya enzymes is solving all your problems I would say stop there. If you are still having problems keep trying. Sustenase has many ingredients including papayotin from papaya, Bromelain from pinapple and it does contain Pancreas enzymes. I don't know how similar the Pancreas enzymes are to Creon. It also has many other ingredients. I hope I have answered your questions. It would be so nice if the medical community could prescribe one product that helped all the symptoms of IBS. One nice thing about sustenase is that most people will see a difference in around a week if it is going to help. You don't have to wait months to see the results. Life Plus also has a thirty day guarentee. One thing though you have to take it with every meal. If my wife misses a couple she can tell a significant difference. If you take it irregular you won't see any difference.------------------ http://www.digestioninfo.com [This message has been edited by kwilim (edited 01-06-2000).]
