Hello to anyone who reads this. I am a 22 year old girl who started to experience symptoms of IBS about 10 months ago. Some of my earlier symptoms were eating, horrible cramps, and running to the bathroom. In the past couple of months I have been experiencing nausea with vomiting on a daily basis, alot of bleeding after going to the bathroom, very weak and feeling like I will pass out, and chest pains that get worse when I breath in. I have also started to have a severe cough. I have been to a specialist and had the lower part of the colon examined, which seemed to be normal, all bloodwork was normal. I am been taking bentyl, prevacid, lomotil, and celexa. Are all of these symptoms normal? Anyone who can help, I would greatly appreciate it.Thank you'Hillary Tate

Have you seen a physician about your symptoms? Have any tests done? Although nausea isn't defined as an IBS symtpom (Rome criteria), there are quite a few that post here that this is a problem for them. But the bleeding...you really should get an appointment made to have that checked out. Might be irritated hemm's, however, you really wouldn't want to guess about what's going on with that, or the chest pains either.

What did the doc say about the bleeding, that is not a part of IBS?The abdominal muscles can put pressure on the diaphram and make breathing harder in IBS.

I have been seeing a specialist for about 2 months. The doctor thought it may be crohn's but I had a proctoscopy which was normal. I have been put on medication and told to come back in March to let them know how I am feeling.
