Does anyone have pressure on left side of abdomen near hip & groin???I feel like its gas, but I am ibs-d and after I go I feel some relief!But basically its there all the time! I am afraid of cancer!!!!!!!! Thanks!!

Very common IBS symptom.If it were cancer you probably wouldn't be noticing anything. All too often people only know they had colon cancer because the doctors find it when they are doing a colonoscopy.One of the reasons they scope everyone over 50 is to find the people who have no idea they have cancer and to remove polyps before they have a chance to become cancer.Unless 1/2 your family died of colon cancer in their 30's and 40's it is extremely unlikely you have cancer.It is extremely likely you have IBS pain and discomfort. Pain or discomfort like pressure are symptoms you should have to even get a diagnosis of IBS.Pain or discomfort that gets better after a BM is a classic IBS symptom and doesn't point to anything else.

I have the same thing sometimes...upper left, lower left....lower abdomen...lol....think I hurt in every inch of my belly so far.It is indeed gas sometimes...I used to be very worried about it too and really paranoid but look....you should know that cancer causes D only if it is located in the right side (ascending) of the colon. The left side cancer causes constipation. And Kathleen is right...cancer doesn't give so many symptoms...by far!
