I live about an hour's drive from Madison, and used to go to the gastroenterologists affiliated with Meriter Hospital. But the two doctors I liked the most are gone now. One moved away and one retired. I recently had some tests done by another doctor in that group (there are only two left) but he was so unfriendly and hard to talk to that I guess I'll be looking elsewhere. I understand there are some very good doctors at University Hospital, but can't speak from personal experience. Good luck, and please post any information you come across. I'll do the same. I don't give out my email address on message boards, but I do check this board several times a week. There have to be some good doctors out there somewhere!

I live in Janesville, but have gone to a Gastro doctor specializing in IBS in Milwaukee. Unfortunately he has left this clinic go to another state, but there seemed to be a group of physicians there that had a lot of knowledge of IBS. It's part of Aurora Health Care - right by the River,downtown, I think it's called Gastro. Disease Specialists of Wisconsin. Good luck.

Hey Jenzi,I live in Janesville! I was just diagnosed with IBS at Riverview with Dr.Brandt. He is a great guy and is trying his darndest to help me. He didn't help too much with diet because my iron is low and I lost 30# so he just wants me to eat stuff that is not good for IBS, ie eggs, dairy, red meat. I'm also seeing Dr. Wojciechowski in Evansville. Like him alot. He's a good friend who is open to being educated on the subject.I was really wanting to find a support group around here in Janesville. Know of one? Want to start one?ColonQueen
