kcky, thanks for the update and info .. when d'ya expect the results?Am trying to get an antroduodenal mano arranged, but when they were going to do the one u just had instead - with 24hour ph - they sent patients home with the tube inserted. So did u have in on an in-patient basis given that u could only tolerate 12hours before they had to remove it?KKat

hi to all,just wanted to share my experience with the 24 hr manometry test. Was not a fun time. I could only take the tube being in for 12 hours. I think it was because of the first test they did was to measure the muscles in my throat. They had to insert a larger tube, drink some water and when that test was done they put the smaller tube in. my nose and throat felt very sore. Could not swallow or eat to much. I completed half of the test so hopefully will show something. Advise if anyone has to have this done, have the smaller tube inserted into the other nostril.had a small bowel function test this am. boy i think they should tell you to wait at the hospital a while to go the bathroom. Had to stop at 4 places on the way home.hit 2 burger kings and 2 hospitals. was not given good instructions for that. maybe i will invent a portapotter for the car. lol some of these tests really stink. sorry to go on about this but it makes me feel better to vent.have a good day

hi kkat,the 24hr study I had was put in at the hospital and I was sent home. I called the nurse several times and she told me to hold on until at least 10pm. I did and took the tube out myself, was not hard. As I explained I think my nose and throat was so sore because of the first test the nurse did before inserting the small tube for the 24 hr study. Won't get the results until next week. Will let you know.have a good daykathy
