I had low vitamin D levels in my blood and the only way I could take vitamin D was if it were integrated with a calcium pill. A straight 5000IU vit. D pill would set my gut to rolling every time. Recently, I bought the 5000IU for my husband but I saw some 1000IU and decided to try that. So far (two weeks), I've been able to tolerate the lower dosage. And the gut traffic has slowed a bit since then, too. Now I know all too well about getting my hopes up on what turns out to be a spurious relationship between something new I try and my gut's behavior, but time will tell if indeed vitamin D helps with my D.

Anyone have any sucess stories with vitamin D?

How interesting! Thank you for linking that article. In my particular case, I couldn't take the high dose but the low dose seems to keep helping. I've actually had to cut back on my clay consumption lately. I really hate to get my hopes dashed once again if my gut suddenly rebels as it has for 40 years, but so far, so good.
