I've been lurking here for awhile, and some of you are so knowledgeable! The question I have relates to Celexa. I was on it for awhile, for depression. At that time, I didn't know I had IBS, I just thought I had lactose intolerance.Anyhow, Celexa worked wonders. I also had some luck with a couple other SSRI's as far as IBS goes. BUT I had some really bad side effects with these meds, so I couldn't keep taking them. Based on this info, can anyone suggest another medication, preferably one that is not primarily an antidepressant, that might help? I have a doc who's pretty open to suggestions. Thanks so much!

The best way to go with this is take that list to your doctor who will review your medical history and your symptoms and the list can be a guide.

I have had a lot of luck with Lomotil-I carry a few pills around with me all the time-If you put them under your tongue -they work faster
