meds for ibs

Earlier today i was looking in an old box i have had for many years old postcards, birth certificate, baby pics (god i was THIN) Anyways i found some pills i was prescribed in 2002 they are called pro-banthine and alverine apparantly prescribed for bowel "spasms" I cant even remember getting these tabs let alone taking them, obviouly i did as they were on a repeat prescription thingy majig...Has anyone heard of these tabs? or taken them? i looked up the internet and cant find anything about them..
