I'm new to this board and have been slowly reading through all the past posts. I've seen some glowing testimonials on the IBS Audio Tapes. I have had IBS-C for 35 years. Are the tapes geared toward any type of IBS or just the more common IBS-D? Thanks for your help.

Hi Irene:I have been using Mike's tapes for 34 days now, and have found them to be excellent! From what I understand they are specifically geared for IBS. There is no mention of a difference between C and D.I've had wonderful results with them, and so have many other people on the Board who have been using them! I would definitely recommend them.

Hi Irene!Jean is right, the tapes are good for both C and D.
Part of the program teaches a technique to help you to either "speed things up" if you are C, or "slow things down" if you are D. If, like me, you are combination C/D, it helps you to find a happy balance!
Like Jean I am having much success with the tapes.

I agree with Jean & Julie. I am a C that used to go about 9-11 days on average without any "activity." The first 6 days on Mike's tapes, I went every single day, and it wasn't D. Then I had a relapse for a few weeks while my body was getting used to a new medicine, and have just now resumed my more frequent trips. My body still lets me know I have IBS, but it's a bit quieter now!

I think everyone knows by now how I feel about this, since I have begun working(I designed his website) with Mike. I have had three attacks of pain since ending the program in three months from roughly four attacks a week for twenty nine years. I have also noticed a continued improvement in D&C,bloating and gas, and my overall wellbeing and energy. Everything is almost normal and I can eat what I want with little ramifications. The more I have learned about how and why this works the more it makes sense to me. I am no longer caught up in the vicious catch 22 cycle of anxiety and attacks and what causes what it seems to have broken the chain for me.You may not choose Mike for hypnosis(although he is an expert)but if you have ultimately been diagnosed with IBS I highly suggest hypnotherapy. It can be used in conjuntion with meds and otc's if necessary and it is safe, easy, and I think most people will really benefit from it.------------------ http://webpotential.com/ericibs/index.htm
