I am very sad to hear my doctor that has been treating me for Fibro is moving to North Carolina. He did share with me these interesting facts. Fibromyalgia has been confirmed to be a rheumatic disease, but the cause still remains somewhat of a mystery. Any doubts in the medical community that the pain of fibromyalgia is of physical origin have been eased by recent research. A brain-scan study shows evidence of the pain suffered by people with fibromyalgia. He stated that the researchers used a device that applied varying degrees of pressure to the thumbnails. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed measurable pain signals in the brain among Fibro patients when thumb pressure was applied. He feels it is in the very near future that a medication (name wasn't revealed) will be approved for better treatment. He seemed doubtful a cure would be found soon. It was interesting info for me..hope it helps others.

Hi squrts..yes, I do so much dread having to find a doctor that really understands this health issue. I had gotten comfortable with my doctor. Also, his wife has been diagnosed with fibro, so he sees her suffering everyday and needing treatment,so naturally he became intense in his research. Such a loss to me!!
