I have been suffering really bad abdominal cramps for 3 days, I have ibs c so I thought It would go away if I had a bm but I have gone every day and I'm still in so much pain I can't stand up straight. Went to dr today who felt my abdomen gave me buscopan tablets and told me if it suddenly gets worse it might be appendicitis and to go to hospital then, but I'm sure it's 'just' my ibs. I was referred to hospital specialist who did a rectal endoscope exam, a barium meal and tested for coeliac, all negative for anything. Is there anything I can try or ask my dr to test for (in the uk)? I have tried a lot of the antispasmodics before so drs have given up prescribing me things and the hospital no longer wish to see me.

Is it possible to get another doctor's opinion? I would demand more treatment. hy there. I have IBS also im not sure wich type because they didnt told me but at the beginning i had a lot of pain day by day i could not work and stand up...it was realy bad. In this time i was under treatment with throat infection (tonsilisis) and taking PENICILINE (antybiotic) after i stop taking the drug a couple day's feld better, it may be that you are taking some kind of medicine or strong herbal tea's or even some kind of drink or food's. What i reccomend to try keeping a diary of what are you eating drinking doing day by day for 1 week or two and try to change that step by step so you can keep track...and see the difference. If you are taking some drugs (any kind) try to change the drug type or even stop for a while even if its vitamins or nutrition solutions and see the difference. I understand how your feel. I have been told that I have IBS but I am not so sure. I hurt for months and months at a time. It soesnt matter what I eat or if I eat anything at all. I have sharp pains to my right upper and lower abdomen and then cramping and aching all over the rest of my abdomen. Having a BM never helps and at times I feel that I could and sit and sit only never go then other times I suddenly have a strong hard painful urge and have diarrhea all over myself with little warning because I have already been feeling the urge, cramps and pain for months regardless so there is no change I just suddenly kick in to higher pain gear and cant stop...... usually in my car or a public place..... sometimes at home. I take Librax, have been on bentyl..... all they do is making me feel like hot flashy or knock me out for an hour and then I wake to the pain. I am not so sure it is irritable bowel because from what I read there should be at least some improvement after a BM............ I know little about irritable bowel and if these symptoms are normal for IBS would somebody tell me.
