I have read many of your posts about BC pills and how it has helped some of you and Im just now getting ready to try them for my ibs. My problem started after I had my last child and had my tubes tied. The D started coming on very slowly and three years ago it got to be everyday but mostly in the mornings but 2 years ago it started being a all day thing. D and sometimes stomach pains non stop all day long. Of course my Dr. says its ibs and birth control pills wont help at all but what some of you have said it does. My question is for those of you that say it does help, does it help with the D or just some of the cramps? IF it does help how long does it take to start helping? Im praying this is the answer to this terrible life ibs has given me !!!!! Now I also have to quit smoking so I can take the pills. Im 42 and so smoking and taking the bc is not good for me. I need to quit anyway though. If this dont work do any of you have any suggestion on what may help me???????

Kelly, Thats the kind I took before I had my tubes tied, that was 6 years ago. They gave me a different kind this time but its still a low dose he said. I took my first one last night, I will keep ya posted and let you know how it goes for me. Im also hoping that it will help with my D and my periods. My periods have been terrible ever since I had my tubes tied. Some months are unbearable with the pain and it lasts for days.
