Yes, actually, there are a few drugs in the works for IBS. One is called Alosetron (lotronex) and it is for diarrhea predominant IBS. One is called Zalmac (tegeserod) and this is for Constipation. The first drug is made by Glaxo Wellcome who just merged with Smithe-Clein Beechum (sp??) And the other is made by a company called Novartis. Alostron is expected out in late March, early April. While Zelmac is not expected to be out for another year or so. Testing is continually taking place for both of these drugs.LALA
