I was diagnosed with IBS many years ago. It would consist of intense pain for several hours, then a BM. I was never given anything for it. I haven't had an attack for about a year. This past Monday I was up all night with the pain, went to the doctor in the morning and he gave me Levbid .0375 mg which I take once in the a.m. and once at night. I am still having bad pains and getting very little sleep. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Much the same happened to me about 1 year ago.I saw a general family doctor, who referred me to a gastroenterologist. Two weeks later, I had a complete colonoscopy, which revealed a healthy bowel, with pictures comumenting this condition. The causefor me, according to the specialist is excessive stress, the source of which I am yet unaware, if he is correct. The specialist then referred me back to the family physician, who rx'd the Librax.(generic form of: 'Librax 5'-2.5 mg)I am relieved to know I have no colitis, Chron's, ulcers, or cancer. The pain still bothers me, and that's what the Librax is for.I hope this short explanation is of help.
