Hi BobIf you haven't seen a doctor at all, you should probably have a workup by a good GI specialist. This will help exclude any organic disease. It's a drag, but it is the logical 1st step. Keep posting, best of luck.

I also find that social situations can bring on an IBS episode. Many of us have certain events that are "triggers". There is a connection between the mind and the gut. Just the thought of being in a new situation, worrying about having to find a bathroom, etc., can cause symptoms. Pesonally, I am using medication and counseling to combat this problem.Best Wishes,Kristy
