Hello guys and gals, whats ups people, i am new to this forum/support group, and was looking to tell my story and get some insite as to what other people have done to help. and let me tell you, i dont want to be gross or obsine, but every BM i have is VERY painfull, with cramps, followed by what can only be described by a gush of waste that burns like it were acid. the 1st one of the day as soon as i wake up isnt bad but it leaves me so raw it hurts to sit down or even walk. to start, im 24 (25 in 3 months) and have been diagnosed with IBS-D since i was 13 years old, and this horrid disease, syndrome, whatever has ruined my life. i suffered through middle school/high school with hazing/teasing because of my constany and long bathroom breakes, and missing school. now im 24 and have lost 3 jobs in the past 4 years because they say i spend too much time in the bathroom. i am currently going to school to be a pharmacy technition and working at a local private owned pharmacy as a tech. For the last 4 years i have been in a wonderfully perfect relationship with an unbeliveably understanding women, Michelle. she is what brings light to my world, and she said yes when i asked her to marry me jan. 7 2009. but she told me recently she didn't like how if we go someplace(with friends or alone) i spend alot of time in the bathroom. which hurts but anyway, i have tried many different meds from the doc. i dont recall names because most of them were given to me when i was 16-18. i spent 2 solid years, from 16-18 years old, goint to every Gastrointerologist, internal med. doctor, and specialists they recomemeded in the southeast US(i live in FL), even the "world famous" mayo clinic in northern FL. The different doc's had me on Xanax of all thing at first, but then put me on everything from a med mainly perscribed to bi-polar patients, to limotl, to a blood pressure med, to a colestorol med, some poweder (that was supposed to be orange flavor), and many others. Again im sorry i cant remember the names of most these meds, but its been almost 7 years since i been taking them. and nothing worked. the only thing that a few of the doc's said was i could get a colostomy bag, which i really dont want. i find sometimes, even though it is a stupid thought, that i don't want to eat, cuz if nothing goes in, nothing can come out painfully. i could go 2 days without eating anything more then 1 slice of bread with mayo and 1 slice of turkey on it in 2 days. to help with making myself eat, i have been smoking pot since i was 18. i've tried not smoking for 2 months because one of my doc's said the pot might be making things worse. but it dosn't effect the IBS at all. the only thing i found helps with the diarreha, is narcotics. a very close friend of mine who had his leg amputated 12 years ago, is perscribed percocet 10/325. when things get really bad or when something i really want to take part in and not be in missery comes around, he gives me a few of the percocets and it stops the diareeha instantly. i know this is in no way healthy, legal, or right. but it is the only way i am able to have a half-way normal life. without them, i would not be able to leave my house most the time. and i know they are addicting, and i worrie i might develop a problem with them, but it is nice to go out with my fiancee and give her the romantic night she deserves, and not worrie where the nearest bathroom is. wow, i just realized how much i typed, sorry i got long winded, i just wanted to introduce myself, and tell my story. but to the point of my post, "has anyone found any herbal remedy, or ANYTHING that at least helps with the urgency, or burning, or cramps? i am desperate. i will try anything to help make things better. i dont expect a cure or even anything to help like the percocet, but if anything helps make things bareable, i would be happy. thanks for listening, if you made it all the way through my mini-novle.
