Hello,I am new to this site and joined as I feel im getting paranoid now thinking that I have some form of cancer!!!!!!.I have suffered lower left abdominal pain on and off since end of november last year and visited my GP and told him the symptoms , feeling bloated, tender abdomen, needing to go to the toilet (no2) somedays up to 6 times and straining without going sometimes.He checked my records and I had had a full blood test in sept due to my blood pressure tablets he said i had IBS. he gave me some tablets which did not work so I went back beginginning of january and he prescribed me a different lot to take one 3 times a day. I mentioned to him then that i was worried I had Ovarian Cancer as the symptoms were similar and he said "what makes you thik you have that"!!!! I said I had looked on internet and he laughed and said "you dont get pain with ovarian cancer!!!. The new tablets dont work , I had a period last week and the pain miraculosly went for a few days. but got up this morning with the pain and it is more in the centre of my abdomen . I am going to book another appointment but thought I would see if anyone else has similar symptoms.

You betcha it sounds very much the same as (if I may speak for some other peopleon the site) alot of us have the same symptoms as you I think . I for one have alot of stomach pain,spend most of my life in the bthrm,sometimes I have fatigue,nausea,feellike I havta go and don't go,and a poop load of other symptoms.if you wanna chat I'm kinda new too.dont go thru this alone it's not easy. pls hang in there ok and talk about it it makes me feel better

Thanks its nice to know your not alone!. I have convinced myself i have something more serious! even thought eh doctor did not feel the need for any further tests at present. everyone tell me that he would have sent me for further tests if he was concerned but i cannot see how it can be diagnosed by only looking at blood test and listening to symptoms. Oh he did examine my abdomen.

I also have left side abdominal pain. It is barely noticeable on some days and on some days like today it is a dull annoying pain. I am a male, so I know it is not my ovary. I have had the pain for about 3 months now. I also have randomly shaped stools, sometimes normal shape, sometimes mushy, sometimes flat and ribbon like. I also had a one week period of constipation where I had to take laxatives. I had a colonoscopy to rule out anything serious in my colon. My gastrointestinal doctor said it was probably IBS. There really isn't anything else on the front left side it could be. If you want to put your mind to ease that it is not anything serious in your colon, have a colonoscopy. But your symptoms are most likely from IBS.
