Anyone know why this happens? Is it the excess gas I'm told I have rushing through my system? Does it mean something good????

I have been wondering the same thing for months. I asked my sister (who is a dr., but a gyn.) said that it's gas moving around, but at times, the sounds are SO loud that I find it hard to believe that they're gas sounds. Anyone know the answer??

There has been little research on gut sounds and we don't really know much about how they are produced.One study that compared IBS subjects to healthy individuals found subtle differences in the sounds although they both were equally as loud. I suspect, however, that the despite the apparent subtle differences they are not indicative of any abnormal motility.
