I've noticed when I get a runny nose, it smells like B/O. Is it just me, or does everybody get that?

Have you had a nasal swab done yet? My nasal discharge had a very unpleasant smell years back, I was swabbed and tested positive for a neurotoxic staph infection, the treatment for which was topical application of an ointment called 'Bactroban'. I used this for a while but found that I had to avoid most complex carbs before the problem started to ease. I still have a slightly yellowish discharge if I don't religiously restrict my complex carbohydrates.Tony.

Get yourself checked for a variety of sinus infections.In a way, this IS related to IBS, because simple post nasal drip can cause IBS-like symptoms.Evie

Could it just be allergies? I used Rhinocort nasal spray (presciption) each morning, year round.

Allergies are a possibility.Another possibility that many people do not think about is something called Vaso-motor Rhinitis. I have it. It is related to an autoimmune disorder that I have.Regards, Evie

My nose only runs right before my colon go nuts. Always the left side and never the right. Otherwise it's fine throughout the year. Anyone else have this weird symptom?
