So over the last two weeks-ish, I've gone from IBS-D for years, and for whatever reason had constipation... possibly my own fault due to drinking little water, or holding it, or change of hormones... or who knows! But anyway, the last few days I've had what I assume "normal" BM's are, and I've noticed this a couple of times before... after I've gone properly, especially if it's been quite a big one (sorry), a couple of hours later, I get wind, often trapped but gradually passes through, and smells very pungent - eggy, sulphury. I have this rarely, but it's just something I've picked up on... I don't really know what it means? All I can think of is that perhaps it's been trapped a little for a while behind my ... stuff, and then I go and everything then kinda changes position. Has anyone experienced this?

Bacterial populations can change a bit over time as does our diet tend to vary.Eating more sulfur (protein or things like onions/garlic) and having a few more of the sulfur reducing bacteria will up the smell. They are a normal part of the bacteria in the gut, so they aren't a pathogen or sign of a disease. Some people have stinky gas all the time, some find it comes and goes.Pepto bismol can absorb the odor, but may be too constipating for some.
