I'm getting that all-too-familiar pain around my left ovary again, and it's not even time for me to ovulate yet. I just went to the doctor less than 2 weeks ago for this, and was told I had a cyst. She game me medication to shrink it, but now that sharp, painful, stabbing feeling is back again. It is so uncomfortable
I am thinking of having the cysts removed, but I have heard that surgery can irritate a person with bladder problems such as Interstitial Cystitis, like I have. So I don't know what to do??!!?? My bladder bothers me so much now that I can barely sleep. I'm scared to make it much worse
But this pain can be unbearable at times... Have any of you ever had surgery to remove cysts?? I got the cysts when I took Clomid in April. One of the side effects of that medication is that it can cause cysts, and BOY, has it EVER. I'm STILL suffering, all this time later
And lost my babies to boot
So although the Clomid worked, I still ended up heartbroken when my babies died, and now I have all this pain. I don't think I'll be doing Clomid again anytime soon...Thanks for listening, Ladies

Ashley,First of all, I am so very sorry you lost your babies... My thoughts and prayers are with you  . That's a terrible loss to go through. I almost lost my baby in a drowning accident when he was 1 1/2 yrs old. The prognosis from the doctors was a death sentence. He is still here and completely well, but I do understand the grief you must feel because I felt such terrible hopelessness and despair after the doctors had talked to me about his "terminal" condition. Regarding your cysts I can very much relate as well. I have been having pain on the right and left side for several months now, predominantely on the right. I had a pelvic and vaginal ultrasound done. They found several small cysts on both ovaries as well as a few behind my tilted uterus. The physician said they were all within normal limits and nothing needed to be done. That's great but I am in pain so often, does this mean I just have to live with it until they shrink? I get so frustrated with doctors anymore because of all the money I have spent on endless meds, tests, and specialists only to end up with taking just my Tylenol because it is "safe" for me to take and not making me sicker with all the possible side effects. I also have GERD and IBS/A and often cannot tell whether my ovaries or my gut hurts. I am scheduled for a colonoscopy the end of the month. I am not going to go through with it. Just found out that my health insurance doesn't pay for diagnostic evals until I have paid a $2000 deductible and then they will only pay for 65 percent
. I decided not to go into debt for a test that most likely will be negative anyway. 4 days ago I was put on my church's prayer chain and since then I haven't had any excruciating pain in my lower abdomen and back. Since I don't have a lot of faith in doctors anymore I might as well put my faith in God and prayer
. Please be encouraged, keep us informed how you are doing.
My best to you,Angela

i often get cysts on my r ovary. i had a loparoscopy done to look for endometriosus when i was 18. it was negative. i control the cysts with birth control pills. some are too weak, the shot (depo-provers) works best, but i had the unfortunate honor of being in the .1% who lactate on the shot!! anyway, i can sympathize. i've been hospitalized for them, i get very sick from them at times. i hope you can find something that works for you. i was on something for pain, but i can't remember what it's called. i think it has aspirin in it because they won't let me take it anymore (i'm allergic to aspirin). anyway, it's a big blue pill. it worked pretty good. i was on ponstan first, but it didn't work as well. good luck

I understand your pain. When I was 16, I had two cysts on my ovaries. One was the size of a golfball and the other was the size of a quarter. The smaller one ruptured and it was pain like I have never felt before. I'll never forget what that felt like. Since then, I have been on birth control and luckily, that took care of them. I am sorry for your loss but just realize that we are here for you! Take care and feel better!
