Hi,about three years ago I had my left ovary, tube removed after a cyst twisted and ruptured. The right ovary, tube and everything else was left in. Because of circumstances that I won't get into, I never went back for a follow-up about this. Is there any physiological / hormone changes that I might be experiencing because of this? I have been told unofficially, that the remaining ovary should more than make up for the missing one. But....is this true?

Yes, it's true. One ovary, or even sometimes just a few ovarian cells is all that is neccessary to keep hormones in check.
