I know that IBS can cause abdominal pain, but I've been having pain in my lower back. It is always just on my left side. Could IBS also cause this? I have a hard time bending over so I wonder if it might just be regular back pain, but is seems to coincide with a flare up.

I get really bad lower back pain at times,so painful i cannot sit properly/comfortably.I have to lie flat to ease it sometimes, although i know some professionals say not to do that, but if it eases the pain, you do anything.

I've had gastroenterologists explain that my lower back pain can indeed be caused by the colon just like by the uterus sloughing during menstruatation. But, I also know I have no muscular-skeletal problems going on. Back pain can be from that reason too so it won't hurt to get your back checked out.
