I am new here, brand new just a few minutes ago. Read the topic about abdominal pain. A few months ago I was sure it was gall bladder, had an ultrasound. Looked at all my organs, no problem with any including the gall bladder. About every 3 weeks or so, I start getting constipated and then that pain starts again, nothing I can't stand, but so irritating, like spasms almost in one area, about 3-4 inches to the right of navel. Could it be liver? Have had liver enzymes checked, always ok. On no cholesterol medicine. This has been going on for over a year now. I get so dang bloated when this happens and the flatulence and burping is almost constant. Some days I go bm every 1.2 hour not diarrhea but just constant. Then the fesces are real thin. I am 75 years old, have had rectal and anal surgery about 6 years ago, no fecal incontinence, once or twice maybe. I feel stupid asking all these questions but figure you all know what it is. It's something you usually don't discuss. Sometimes I don't even feel like going anywhere, my stomach so bloated. I have passed gas 3 x since starting this post! I do not have any ovaries, or any uterus, no appendix either. What can I do? There is a gall bladder sight that wants $135 for a gall bladder starter kit, in case it is "sluggish bile". I don't know what to do next. Colonoscopy? Gastro-enterologist? Who? What? My innards were all fine according to the recent ultrasound. Heart cath in January was fine. (I have two stents in arteries). Well it would be nice if I didn't consider the bathroom practically the center of my existence!! Also urinate frequently, but this may be nerves or just in case I have to go. Any help, or any suggestions most welcome. I'll be glad to participate in this forum all I can if I can be of help to anybody. What should I do next? Have just been to family prac. Hate to go to specialist, they put you through all that dang rigamarole, and as soon as you go, all the symptoms stop, I'll swear. Sharon

You say you're 75? You should be having regular colonoscopies to check for colon polyps and possible cancer. Your symptoms sound like a minor blockage, and even if it turns out to be from a spastic colon, better safe than sorry! I say go get you a colonoscopy!
