Lactose is not an active ingredient. It is one of the things commonly used to help bind things so the tablet forms well.K.------------------I have no financial, academic, or any other stake in any commercial product mentioned by me.My story and what worked for me in greatly easing my IBS: http://www.ibsgroup.org/ubb/Forum17/HTML/000015.html

Sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel stupid. Most people don't have any training or information about pharmacology, so it's really easy to misunderstand what the ingredient list means, they often split it up into two sections the Active ingredients (what does something) and the Inert or Inactive ingredients (what they used to make it be a pill, make it pretty colors, coat it so it goes down nicely, with chewables there are usually sweeteners and flavorings). But when they don't split it up it can get really confusing.K.------------------I have no financial, academic, or any other stake in any commercial product mentioned by me.My story and what worked for me in greatly easing my IBS: http://www.ibsgroup.org/ubb/Forum17/HTML/000015.html
