I have the same feeling. I avoid movie theatres all together actually. I'm not suggesting that, but I still have IBS and well, as you know, for the womens' washrooms there are always line ups. I can't wait that long if I have an attack. What did your dr. give you for your panick attacks?I think one way of easing your attacks is to be prepared if you do have an attack at least you will feel some what at ease. Maybe before going out or what ever you can take immodium so you know you won't have an attack or try and pack up some "emergency" things in case you do have an attack. Things like wet naps, extra pair of undies, etc. That way just knowing they are there it will ease your mind.I guess that's the best I can do for you. I am going through the same thing as you trying to find out what will make my panick attacks go away. Sometimes the panick attacks are worse then the IBS itself. I get the whole clamy hands, etc and you can't concentrate even. I had that during school. Maybe your dr. can give you those pills that help you calm down again??Let me know if you find something that works for you

The two best treatments for panic/anxiety attacks are CBT and HT. Between the two, CBT and HT, CBT is probably better. Of course there are a number of drugs for these attacks as well besides celexa such as Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, and BuSpar. I'd definately see your doctor, maybe all that is needed is a medication to manage the attack especially since it's recent. If you wait, it may become more chronic. If one doesn't have panic/anxiety attacks then these treatments are of no use.

I just had a nasty panic attack on Friday. I haven't had one in months and months. THough I had that part of my life under control. I was under LOTS AND LOTS of stress for the past months though so I guess it makes sense. My doc gave me Lexapro for the anxiety. I have talked to two friends of mine who have started taking Lexapro and they absolutely love it. The side effects are minimal for them and they are much happier. I want to start taking it soon b/c I am afraid the attacks will become chronic again but I also fear the intial two weeks. When I tried Celexa it gave me two days of a solid panic attack and no sleep. This is supposed to be better. Let me know if you find out anything else that can help. I have been doing hypnotherapy when I have the time.

I have tried cipramil (celexa) aswell and I couldn't take it! After a day I had continuous yawning and tiredness and my anxiety went through the roof.Apparently if you can make it through the initial bad phases it does help, but I couldn't.I'm trying to deal with this as much as possible without drugs.

Just popping in to agree with Loulou... and thumbs up to Canuck on the emergency supplies. Never go anywhere without Baby Fresh Wipes....and spare undies
On a more serious note, Sabrina, if you have significant concerns, do see your doc again.Evie
