Please help.I have suffered from severe chronic constipation with relenting pain 24/7. The condition has deteriorated rapidly and I cannot carry on like this. I have become totally disabled from this condition, my colon is so hypersensitive and all food, liquids etc increase symptoms dramatically. My doctor is talking about possible colon resectioning, removing a portion of the colon and rejoining it to the rectum.Could you please tell me how I could get more information on this procedure. (I am told the best places to have it done would be John Hopkins or Duke.) Prior to my appointment I would like to obtain as much information about this procedure as possible. Are there any web sites, books or support groups relating to such a scary procedure. I am really afraid and need as much help and support as possible and don't know where to turn.I have tried everything to get my colon "moving", all osmotic laxatives, Neostigmine, Cytotec, Colchicine, Zelmac, Reglan, etc and had no response at all, just increased pain and symptoms. My colon has also been destroyed by using laxatives which no longer work.I am really afraid and would like to know how I could find out if anyone has been through this type of procedure or am I the only one?! I'm struggling so much to get information about it, and not had much luck! I am so sorry that it has come to something as serious as this.I sincerely hope you can help... please.
Many thanks
