I experience lower abdominal pain after evacuation starting about 5 minutes after and lasting anywhere between 1 & 4 hours. It's not so bad that I can't function but it certainly doesn't help. The stool is usually loose but it doesn't seem to matter - loose or otherwise, the pain is still there -- everytime! Any ideas? I haven't been officially diagnosed with IBS - I'm new to this and am not sure if this is IBS. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

dave, if you haven't already you should seek the advice of a physician. what you describe could be anything or nothing.

I sometimes get a stabbing pain in my rectum. Probably nothing to be worried about. But best to consult a doc.
