Presenting a special chat session with Dr Timothy Meakin, B.Sc., M.D., FRNZCGP from Meracol to discuss Ibsacol, a treatment for IBS D.When: Sunday June 25, 2006 at 8:30pm-9:30pm ESTWhere: http://ibsgroup.org/groupee/chat?cdra=Y&s=500107 (chat room)Format: Question and AnswerWebsite: http://www.ibsacol.com Dr Meakin is in family practice in Auckland, New Zealand. Nine years ago he was invited to trial Meracol, the active ingredient in Ibsacol. Working with a number of his patients, the results impressed him as to the safety and efficacy of Ibsacol as a new alternative treatment to reduce or eliminate the symptoms of IBS D.At his request, Dr Meakin later was appointed a consultant medical director and subsequently he took an interest in the company. He continues informal trials in his New Zealand clinic with Ibsacol and the various Meracol formulations. His appearance on the Chat Room will offer members a chance to benefit from his clinical experience of Ibsacol as a successful treatment for IBS D and its various associated symptoms. Ibsacol customers report new freedom from the worst symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome -- including the urgency and panic of incontinence with diarrhea, the pain and bloating, flatulence, nausea and griping. At lower dose, it is also shown to be effective for constipation.Ibsacol is safe and natural with no side effects. - Made from the purest plant source, Ibsacol contains a patented fatty acid ester compound specifically formulated for IBS and associated symptoms. - Ibsacol is not a drug, it is a safe dietary supplement. - Ibsacol has been developed in New Zealand and safety tested in a major New Zealand hospital. It is manufactured in a licensed pharmaceutical laboratory.

Can you summarize his study with Ibsacol?2006-06-25 18:09:55.0 TDM: supports the obseravtion of micro-inflammation in IBS and the fact that low levels of Interleukin 10 may contribute to the symptoms of IBS. This supports our belief that by taking Ibsacol as a dietary supplement restotes normal IL 10 levels and reduces the symptoms of IBS.2006-06-25 18:10:45.0 TDM: The reference number for the paper is ISSN 1007-9327 CN 14-1219/R2006-06-25 18:11:02.0 Jeffrey Roberts: Is the IL level something that you can test for?2006-06-25 18:11:20.0 TDM: World J Gastroenterol 2006 January 7; 2(1):1-52006-06-25 18:12:07.0 Jeffrey Roberts: We are going to make the transcript from this session available after the chat, so that is helpful information for anyone who wants to read up on it.2006-06-25 18:12:10.0 Brett Sr.: When you say 70% were helped, to what extent were they helped? on a scale from 1 to 102006-06-25 18:12:18.0 TDM: At this point there is no readily available test we are aware of.2006-06-25 18:14:03.0 TDM: Brett -- 7-10 would be common -- 7 meaning an occasional episode of diarrhea associated with a trigger food possibly or extra stress; 10 being IBS symptom free.2006-06-25 18:15:08.0 kitkat17 Lady of the Loo: Is the product 100% safe?2006-06-25 18:16:09.0 TDM: kitkat - our formal safety data suggests that taking Ibsacol is as safe as taking olive oil in your diet.2006-06-25 18:16:16.0 Kathleen M.: Do you have any information about which patients are most likely to be helped and which are not?2006-06-25 18:18:17.0 TDM: Patients with a medical diagnosis of IBS would be most likely abole to be helped. Patients with a dignosis of Inflammatory Bowel Disease should not take full strength Ibsacol.2006-06-25 18:18:37.0 Jeffrey Roberts: We have about 10 minutes left. Diane, who is with you - can you introduce yourself and please tell us about enquiries that you usually receive from sufferers?2006-06-25 18:19:18.0 TDM: Hi Jeff -- a lot of the questions are similar to those asked today.2006-06-25 18:19:45.0 TDM: We try to help on a one to one basis when possible; usually these customers are at their wit's end, which is common as you know from the board.2006-06-25 18:21:47.0 TDM: I'll be coming back to the board frequently once again to try and help where we can. As you know, most of our success stories leave the board once they become well again -- basically, Ibsacol, is simple and safe to use.
