lynsey, you poor thing. I'm usually a D too but I've had some extremely bad C episodes due to meds my GP has put me on to "cure" the D. Usually a few days of things like weet bix, insoluable fruit and veg (like broccoli etc) does the trick. I also sometimes sit on the loo with a hot cup of water with lemon in it. That's really good for getting things to move. It's a bit scary being so C after always having D. It's strange, you spend your whole life wishing you didn't have D then get C and just want the D to come back! Hope you go soon. It's not nice being either way.

If you are still C.. i would go to work and deal with the pain.it's easier to deal with pain at work than it is to deal with diarrhea, IMO.I would rather go to work C than D.I would use the sick day for a day that the D was too much to bear. Again, my opinionI hope ya sort it out and feel better soooooon!

Good luck and have a good day. And if you haven't gone by the weekend consider buying a gentle laxative to help things along a bit (I buy the gentlest there is as I've had something that was supposed to be only slightly more than gentle and went for 2 1/2 weeks following it
). I totally understand how you feel. After having D for so long having C makes us like a fish out of water and we don't know what to do. Plus there's always the fear that if we take something to make us go that it will swing us too far in the other direction and our D will come back!
