Lucky you! Don't know what if any tests you have had so difficult to say what he will suggest-depends on your symptoms and what your GP has already offered. I think he has done quite a bit of research into the effects of hypnosis. I also think he is going to or has started research into ondansetron for IBS-d. We don't have lotronex in the UK so this would be our nearest substitute. Usually used for nausea during chemo. It is very expensive to buy but I suppose if his research supports its use we might get it on the NHS-if NICE agree. If you get chance please will you ask him about this research as I would be keen to participate. Good luck anyway and let us know how you get on.

Hi FionaNo-I'm not seeing him as I live at the other end of the country. I know of him because he is one of the best GI specialists for IBS in the UK. His name of often associated with research studies related to IBS. Google him and you will find out more.PS Am assuming this is Prof Peter Whorwell-Wythenshawe hosp.
