I saw in another thread that you've been using this and are pleased with it. I wanted to start a new thread in case you don't look at the other thread again.I saw it today in the store, but it just mentioned controlling pain and bloating, which I don't really have a problem with. Does it help you with D, too?thanks!

Oh from the site above
quote:the formula of chewable Digestive Advantage tablets (32 tablet packs) has recently changed and now contains a small amount of sucralose the formula of non-chewable Digestive Advantage (92 tablet packs) has not changed at all and does not contain sucralose.
You can get it either way you want it.Sucrolose in small amounts usually does seem to be as big a problem compared to sugar alcohols FWIW.

Magnesium is not a stimulatory laxative. If you eat more than you can absorb in the small intestine the remainder in the stool draws water into the stool making it easier to pass.Trace amounts (since it is a nutrient your body requires if there was much at all they'd have that on the nutrition label, 1% of the RDA is ~4 mgs. Most people taking it to loosen the stools need on the order of 200-400 mgs. The lowest amount I've seen bothering anyone is like 60-80 mgs) are used in the manufactur of a lot of pills.Your body should absorb that tiny amount just fine as you need some magnesium to stay alive (things like making your heart beat and a lot of other functions need magnesium to work).DA-IBS is just a probiotic. They may not cure anyone, but for a lot of people they reduce symptoms enough to be worth taking.K.

I would LOVE to shout it from the rooftops!!! If you have IBS, you NEED to try this. I (and my family and friends) have suffered from my IBS-D for over 10 years. A few weeks ago, one of the worst attacks of my life a sent me to the hospital, I had an MRI there. Because of my IBS-D I now have diverticulitis. GREAT. The next day i happened to see, in of all things an ad for Walgreens, the ad for Digestive Advantage. Couldn't hurt might help. Within DAYS, no more cramping, no more diarrhea. AND last night we went out for a cheeseburger. NOTHING!!!! If all I have to do for the rest of my life is take a nasty tasting white pill, I'll take it. If you haven't tried it, TRY IT. I have my life back!!!

Hi all. I have seen this in the aisle but I was afraid I would just be spending more money on another thing that did not work. How long did it take for the pills to start working? Are there any side effects? Thanks!

I took two pills a day for the first week. I started to feel better, really the first day, and by the end of the week I felt like a normal person. No more running to the bathroom after a meal, no more cramps. Granted we're all different, what works for me may not work for everyone. But this worked for me. Here is a link to a study that was done. I don't feel any side effects. It's not classed as a medicine, it's a food supplement. My friend takes a supplement product for her IBS that costs $90 a month, this one is $8. Digestive Advantage study

Thanks for all of your info! I started taking the chew able kind this morning. The box didnt list any artificial sweeteners just sugar. I didn't see any immediate results, but I am coming off a visit with lots of bad foods and drinking. Quick question, should I stop taking my fiber (citrucel) pills with this? Thanks again!
